I found this picture sent in by Mr. Starrine that used to be posted on the site for the YOHI 2000 Reunion.
I don't know if you will post this pic, but it might be of interest to some of my former students. I got married 4 1/2 years ago in Michigan to Ella Tongol, yes a Filipina. We now have two children, a girl Frances - 3 years old, and a boy, Yhanj - 2 weeks old. I enjoyed the pics on your web site, and remember many of those pictured there. Take Care.

Yeah, that's the photo I recall seeing. I adore that little girl of his - she is just so beautiful. I'd love to get in touch with him again. Does anyone know how to get a hold of him? Mikey???? - just teasing.
Cool! Thanks for posting Cindie! Mr. Starrine and Ms. Yamamoto were my favorite teachers in Kinnick. Glad to see he's doing well!
Hi All,
Received an email from Alice Grant (who's still in Yokosuka) regarding Mr. Starrine. Apparently he's moved back to Yokosuka living offbase, married with 3 kids now.
Thanks Alice for the info!!!
I was able to find an email address of his, not sure if it's still valid but sent him an email just in case. Hopefully he'll get it and join us on the blog and possibly the reunion.
You are so resourceful! Thank you! Look forward to seeing him on the blog and possibly at the reunion.
WOW... that's pretty cool! It's good to hear from him. If anyone gets his email address, let me know.

Hi Mr. Starrine! It's so good to see you blogging! I look forward to seeing those new pictures of your family.
Hi Mr. Starrine! It's good to hear from you. Not sure if you remember me. I started your Chemistry class but moved to Subic Bay after the first quarter. I ended up finishing Chemistry at GDHS and the teacher was not very good...and at times he worried me. I've heard stories he almost started a fire in class. I liked your style since I'm a structured and detail oriented person. I did however took one of your basic science classes in 7th or 8th grade. I remember how you had the idea of how to catch people writing on desks. Pure genius! I wasn't one of them, but you did catch this girl who I liked.
Mr. Starrine... you had a huge impact on my life. I'm a teacher now... teaching Computer Applications, Web Design, DT Publishing, and even managing our school's web site. I've just recently counseled (sp?) some of my students with their schedules for next year. I told them many stories about Chemistry class and how much I learned from you. I also tell them that it was the best science class that I had ever taken. I also remember you keeping the score-clock at the basketball games. I'm also coaching basketball and baseball at my school, too. Not too many teachers came out of our bunch. They're probably all making "good" money now. :-) Gotta like teaching in a state where you're paid the lowest in the nation! Just hope that I have as much an impact on my kids' lives as you had on all of your kids.

Mr. Starrine! You definitely probably do not remember me as I only had you for a basic science class in 7th grade and Algebra in 8th or 9th. And I didn't do well in either class (maybe that'll jog your memory??). I was the boys basketball manager for several years and I too remember you always keeping the stats at the home games and us managers had to do them at away games.I know the guys didn't like it when you weren't there to do it as they were always complaining after looking at the stat book at away games knowing we missed a lot of action...oops.

whoah, mr starrine! remember me, from class of 87? as much as we teased about you back in school, you are definitely one of the teachers we fondly remember from back when. good to know you're doing very well, with a family and all. please try to make it to the reunion if you can.
(ps, are we gonna have to call you "gary"? cause that just seems so... wrong...)
